The Whale was from "Jonah and the Whale" and the voice we heard was of Jonah talking about being in the Whale's stomach. I had my 5th birthday party here...I think it was in a birthday cake house. I remember having a girl party host and a midget who played musical chairs and made us balloon animals...we actually called that man a midget..terrible. I remember him like it was yesterday though...he was so much fun! We took "Little Toot" over to get on the side. Pretty sure that's all it was. A big metal (super fast it seemed) slide built to look like we were sliding down a mountain side. I loved this place. Across from the Whale was Humpty Dumpty (he was on a wall).

CTRC is great, mayor Brown should visit the terminal with open mind to see if he can help brining the new train station to central terminal nowhere else.

Nice to hear your comments. I'm glad another person that was there has left a comment and talk a little of there past while there. When were you there if you don't mind my asking??
Wonderful photos. A place and time captured before destruction.
It is a glue machine for putting paper on the edge of boxes.
Poor deer, how sad.
I'm taking a second look at your photos Mr. Motts, in light of the recent inferno that destroyed several buildings at Beth. Steel in Lackawanna on Nov. 9 2016. Apparently they were being used to store boats, cars, motor homes etc for the winter and the amount of black smoke produced was shocking.

Really creepy...I love it. I don't know why old abandoned asylums interests me so much. Maybe it's because I work at a psychiatric hospital. This has always fascinated me.
I WORKED 36 YEARS IN GREYSTONE, I WAS THE MASON STARTED IN 1970, AT THAT TIME WE HAD 7,500 PATIENTS NO ONE WENT ANY WHERE ABOVE GROUND, ONLY THROUGH THE TUNNELS, I HAVE SEEN MANY ATROCITYS DONE TO MANY POOR SOULS

Hopefully we get new sets of pictures of the exterior, she has made it yet again to winter. She is always so pretty covered in a fresh blanket of snow. Happy Holiday's to everyone. ... Another year.
An update to my comment of several years back. I did finally get the courage to start up my projector and Dave (above) is SO right! It is rather loud, sounding like a Sunbeam mixmaster whipping up egg whites! The smell of burning dust, lubricating oil and hot film instantly brought back so many memories of my youth. It did seem to be a little rough on the film, not as gentle like the Bell & Howell's I have. But it did work after not being used for many many years and proves they were machines that were built to last.

Looks like the float switch for a sewage ejector pit to me
A close relative was once warden at this facility. It's a shame it has been let go and probably ready to be demolished. I toured once when it was still in use and it was very scary. Made me think a lot of how it was many, many years ago. Thank you.
