Secret Gardens

We found the Old Taylor Distillery sitting lonely and forgotten along the Kentucky's "Bourbon Trail," a popular route for tourists looking to sample products from various distilleries in the region. Having poked our heads into a few other abandoned distilleries which were often utilitarian industrial-type structures, we knew Old Taylor was quite special, with its white-clad castle gleaming in the late afternoon sun. Although the interior was, as expected, fairly utilitarian and industrial, I was amazed to find stone walls, gazebos, and a large pergola with a chandelier suspended above a spring, all hidden in the overgrowth out back.
