mike's got it on this one. It's the remains of a chain conveyor. If ya go forward about four-five pics, you'll see a pair of them leading up to a balcony from either side.

Just like to point out that this is the origin of the phrase "going balls-out." When the machine was spinning at full speed, the balls would be flung as far out as the linkage would permit.

I just find it odd, that's the distribution name "Kalee" is my name which is Scottish Gaelic.

All in all, a very nice set... the wings bugged me at first, but in later pictures they helped more than hurt. Nice job!
