After I read it was in a movie, I had to see if I could find a clip on Youtubes. I did and I recognized the door with the nest windows I just commented on. This might not be the exact door as the one in the movie clip looks like it has a different edging, but I'm sure a lot of the doors were similar. Hope it's ok to post the link...I just thought you'd be interested. The door is at 1:20 in the clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mq67AcTDNA
Can't say I would mind pulling up to that house at the end of the day. My house is very small so I'm always dreaming of more room. Not for things, but just room to breathe. This one had plenty of breathing room. Really a shame how these things get to be run down like this. Lovely house.
This room seems big and wide. Not too tall, but.... can a room be 'stocky'? lol It just looks really thick and nice. If it could be lit up, I bet it would be super cozy at night. :)
Icewox: I'm not sure, but the stuff on the floor (the yellow and black stuff) looks like fiberglass insulation used inside duct work . I worked with it for years and this looks like the same stuff. I'm not sure how it would have gotten outside the duct, though, as it's usually glued and pinned to the inside of the duct before it's knocked together. Maybe metal scrap scavengers dismantled it? Scrap Sheet metal isn't (or didn't used to be) particularly worth anything, but I've been reading about lots and lots of people making off with all kinds of metal things anymore.
I'd be scared to death to even think about going down there. I don't like heights, or being on ladders. So, this is a weird combination for me... negative height, perhaps? I'd still be on a ladder, but going the opposite direction...equally as scary to me. LOL!!! (The black water doesn't help anything, either. Terrified of water I can't see the bottom of (if I have to go in / near it) Well, I'm just a big baby, aren't I ? LOL!!! :)
Great series, as always!
It looks like it's nestled into a wood, too. I would love to live there. This picture is ideal. It looks small from this angle, but I know how deceptive buildings can be. They look smaller but once you get inside them they seem bigger. White walls make a room look bigger, too. I read this somewhere and painted a brown room white and it did SEEM bigger. If a white paint job could ACTUALLY make more space, that would be great! lol
I don't know how many times I've said this on this site, but ...."They just don't make them like this anymore!!!!"
Which is a shame. Nowadays, they just slap something up in a week. Sometimes, literally. lol
