Of all the abandoned structures I have seen over the years, in real life or in photos, seeing an abandoned amusment park truly breaks my heart.

This is so sad, as is the clown on the wall...one only wonders.

This has the makings of another Edgewood Hospital fiasco...on a much larger scale!!

I lived in KP for about twenty five years. Intrestingly in 1975 when I move there the decay and abandonment were already starting. My friends and I used to explore the brush in that area, sometimes we got thrown out, but mostly they let us be if we weren't drinking or causing trouble.

I don't what saddens me more...knowing the history of KPPC,(warehousing the mentally ill) or seeing these magnifacent structures rotting away.

But that aside, the pics you have taken are superb!!

A sad legacy

Definitely interesting to see signs that were written by people back when the place was in use.

Ah I remember that ride. One time on it I was sitting next to this older teenager who was cracking himself up laughing pretty much. Laughing hysterically. I don't remember much of the ride but I remember being in those little carts, scary monsters painted on the walls and going thru the doors. But that guy laughing hysterically really brings it back to me.

Ah nevermind part of my last comment. I was thinking this was a pic from Danvers State. My bad.

How could that machine still be there in 2008? Demoliton of different buildings was done by then right? That is quite a collectible if someone were able to get it off the property.

I like this picture. The words are so basic "Extreme Precautions" Makes you just wonder what laid behind that door back in the day when the hospital was open. Pretty much seems like anything could be possible.

Too bad they had to tear this place down. I'm sure it would have been fun to go exploring around there.
