This looks like that hall we went down to ex ray. Side doors entered into ex ray rooms. But it could also have been the room at the end of the hall was the cast room.
That orange color and the bright blue remind me of those bed covers also. But some of the other stuff looks like it could have been the curtains that were on the ceiling rails so you could give a patient the illusion of privacy.
The hospital that I worked in had a special cart called the "morgue" cart that took bodies away. The cart could be raised to help get the "dead weight" of the patient onto it. There was a rectangular frame about 2 feet above the metal cart (no mattress so it could be cleaned easily). This frame was covered with a muslin cover that went almost to the floor. The cart above may have held a body at one time or another, but I think this hospital probably had a specialized cart for morgue transfers.
I work on the grounds of Pilgrim state. About 15 years ago I was able to go inside that building and a few more before they tore them down. It was a strange feeling. The pictures on this sight are interesting and truly moving. I am glad I stumbled upon this site.
Very interesting photo. As usual a great job Mr. Motts. I am very interested in urban exploration and paranormal investigations. I have seen a lot of photos from other facilities. Some of the comments made never cease to make me chuckle a bit.
Interesting photo. I know this has been asked already but why do people and by people I mean immature kids feel the need to set fires, break windows, spraypaint stupid crap all over everything in this types of buildings? I am all for urban exploration and very much into paranormal investigation but I am not down with vandalism. Oh and the go to response of "Well it is going to be torn down anyway" really doesn't cut it anymore. Again credit and kudos go to Tom Motts and gang for bringing us these photos.
Interesting photos. However I am getting a migraine from all of the bad spelling and from some of the other posters's ignorant comments. There is nothing funny or cool about vandalizing a building. Even if it is abandoned and slated for demolition. I'm sure that Mister Motts did not have the intent of creating this website or posting pictures just so obnoxious kids could write how cool they were for graffiti or tearing up stuff. Spend time in the patients's shoes and maybe you will understand why some of the more mature posters get irked with immature comments. Okay rant over.
