50 years ago, we would write on notebooks for example, ' RP + BW ', meaning Roger Porter likes Beth Watson. That's what it looks like here, RP likes ... someone but the photo doesn't capture the entire carved message.

Interesting photos. However I am getting a migraine from all of the bad spelling and from some of the other posters's ignorant comments. There is nothing funny or cool about vandalizing a building. Even if it is abandoned and slated for demolition. I'm sure that Mister Motts did not have the intent of creating this website or posting pictures just so obnoxious kids could write how cool they were for graffiti or tearing up stuff. Spend time in the patients's shoes and maybe you will understand why some of the more mature posters get irked with immature comments. Okay rant over.

Interesting photo. The hospital I was in briefly had a secure ward and a "quiet room" for when patients had an outburst. I would imagine it was padded with soft material so the patient would not be able to harm him or herself. (I don't know if Lynne or Twug are still active but maybe they could also give a simplier explaination).

Something tells me that Sam Fist guy is a huge douche. The photos from Mister Motts are really neat. I saw an old episode of "Ghost Hunters" when they were filming at Norwich LEGALLY I might add.

Oh my. Now that would be unsettling to find poking around Norwich.

I am so glad I found your site. I have always wished that I had the time to explore the forgotten places of this world. Your site brings me closer to that. BEAUTIFULLY DONE!

I literally live 5 minutes from the hospital....I have never been inside any of the buildings...but to get in the morgue I just might have to....and as far as all the concerns about getting caught here,...I have spoken with the NYS department of mental health police a few times, and they have told me that the only areas that still belong to Pilgrim state are the buildings that are still in use...thats it....the rest of it belongs to heartland now...but that there security is there almost constantly....I'm curious about the tunnels...anyone know anything about those?

About six years ago a friend at the time wanted to check this out so we did. We got about this far, saw that darkness and heard a loud banging noise and I said 'I don't know what that is, and I don't wanna find out, lets book!'

I was there recently myself, and it was definitely nothing like this. Like E said, a lot bigger looking, closer to the main path, covered in graffiti.
