We are trying to get rid of a safe like this at work. It has the same "Pittsburg" markings on the front it is a stand alone safe about 5 foot high. We were going to sell it to some guy in pittsburgh but he is in Florida till April... If anyone wants to buy this make a post quick because it is going to be scrapped.

I remember this carousel too. It was part of the kiddie land. It was a small all horse carousel, and the big one had a variety of animals.

This carousel is still spinning in Cranston RI at an ice cream place.

These photos are amazing and so sad. Rocky Point was a wonderful park and I have great memories of going there. A trip to the Shore Dinner Hall for clamcakes and "chowda" was a must!

Another funny Ritz story.. Late one night the fire alarms start going off. We open our doors to see smoke (steam) pouring out from the room at the end of the hall way (what would be the second floor room on the far left in the pic). The guy inside was yelling & cussing. We went in for a closer look- through the smoke you could see the form of a tall thin black guy, completely naked, bending over at the old steam radiator with the broken lever in his hand yelling "how the hell do you shut this mother f*cking thing off?!" Of course nobody was willing to help the naked new guy- we retreated back to our rooms in hysterics instead.
..Or the time the keg broke during a party. We finally got it 'fixed' early the next morning- but it would only flow continuously with beer. What else could we do but to all call in sick so as not to let it go to waste? No staff today Jerry..

There were never any curtains in this area.. it was a mini 'greenhouse' type nook under the stairs that led to the night club.
A fire in the main building? These shots were taken in 2003..

If you think nobody will care if you steal from this place than you have no idea just how bored South Fallsburg PD actually are. They actually investigated the stealing of a pie from the Pines bakery back in the day.. (And when the detective came to the Ritz to question us it was spattered with whipped cream- jinkies!!) I'm going to assume it has only gone downhill from there.
I'm more intrigued by the fact that JLP genuinely seems to want to furnish his living quarters with this debris. How does he drive past any dumpster anyplace and maintain his composure?

What a great photo. What a sad sight! The carousel was my favorite ride at Rocky Point, it had a large variety of animals, not just horses. It was beautiful! It was made by the Herschell Spillman company, and all the animals were hand carved. It was built in the early 1920s.

The original figures were auctioned off but the frame is still intact with newer figures and is located at Misquamicut (Atlantic Beach Park), so you can still go for a spin.

I went to college at Buffalo State College in the early 90's. Buff State is directly adjacent to the "psych center" Our fraternity used the psych center grounds to conduct a lot of their initiation rituals. A very spooky place ndeed.

Somebody must be really impressed with their own use of "colorful " language.

The graffit acts like a sign in sheet to us locals...u will find our names in every inch of the building....to let eachothers crew kno we have been there......its like sticking a flag in the ground.....we explored it...
