I think that's an optical illusion. If you look at the floor, you may see some litter. I think it LOOKS like the rear wall is right behind the cell gate, but it is really back further. VERY cool, well done shot, Motts!

I'm thinking the walls separating the stalls have fallen. I think there wa sa bit MORE privacy than it seems....Unless they didn't WANT.,....oh, never mind.... : - p

Obviously it is an analog of the actual interior, but it is really great you were able to recreate the long gone dining hall, demolished c.1920's
It is surprisingly the most accurate! And I especially love how you
"lead the tour" up the stairs, to the Nuremberg Window, which was
a small, interior balcony, imported from Germany, that overlooked
into the dining hall, and served as a minstrel's gallery, where the
small Russian Court Orchestra would serenade diners.

Bravo!

A lot of the links herein don't work. The writing wasn't there originally, it came from a photo shoot a few years back that was supposed to tell a visual story of a real patient who was tortured and experimented on for years. I attended NAPS in 1968-69. How sad to see that this once beautiful set of buildings and campus have fallen into such a state of disrepair
