It might even be possible to do just a structural restoration, for historical reference. They wouldn't even have to keep the entire building, maybe just the original primary structure? I wonder how much that would cost?

History is hard to hold on to & even harder to understand if you don't experience it first hand. Thanks for taking the time to chronicle all these fading pieces of history to the best of your abilities.

world...
but i Hear things, like the Village is pursuing a Contempt Order
against Halcyon Hall's "owner" Bennett Acquisitions LLC,for back
fines and taxes, to the tune of over $2 Million Dollars.
This will never be paid. As a result the Village of Millbrook will
try to "sell" Halcyon. No one will pay $2 Million Dollars. The Village
will then own Halcyon outright. And they have no plan for developing
the parcel, or for financing their own demolition order, either, which
will cost more than $5ive Million Samolians. Ouch.
So the cat continues to chase it's own tail. Or should that be the fox?
It IS Millbrook, after all.
The new "stratergy" will be to fob the whole enchilada off to the county.
It recently tore down the wildy historic Nelson House Hotel annex in Poughkeepsie, laden with asbestos. Around a Million and a half
Smackeroos. They sprayed alot of water. It came down Quick. Would
have happened sooner if not for Sandy. It is now a makeshift parking lot for the county, in a section that is favored for commercial and civic
expansion. The proposal to turn Market St back to 2-way traffic is
slated to cost between 1 and 2 Million dollars.
{always the same amounts, it seems for all these dings...
Especially that last one!
Hell, who wants to go in with me on redoing Market for just 1 Million?
Let's put in a bid! Signage, curbage, some traffic light switcheroo...
Why so much?
Anyway, never mind all that. Just my usual rhetoric. No Serious
people should take it, uhh...seriously. Yeah.
Back on topic, Millbrook's Mayor reiterated her "hopes {for demolition}"
and admitted "Every week people are breaking in."
I think if the county gets hold of it, it'll come down sooner than later.
But in the end, all these plans, desperate or well -laid, are merely
racing gravity, eh?
