The administration buildind was in the ol mansion;there was a mauseselime on thi proparty that connected to the main school building via under ground tunnels .I have explored this system of connection that led to the heating system of this ,building.
It seems to be true. The death of one of St.michaels boys was drowned on a trip to another of Salesian properts. His name was louis mathon.supposedly,he was buried on the grounds of the school,in a small cemetary on the grounds.was this drowning accidental?
I do not know what this object is that is hanging from the side of the wall but I do know what it reminds me of.
This object looks like the creature that was in one of the original
"Outer Limits" television shows.
The name of the show was called "Corpus Earthling"
that aired on Monday, November 18, 1963, almost 50 years ago.
In that show there were aliens that looked liked ordinary rocks.
These rocks were about the size of footballs. They would come alive and attack you and take over your body. The plan of these aliens was to take over planet earth. But isn't that always the plan of aliens ?
Anyway that is what this object looks like and reminds me of.
To answer the thing about the hose, that is a class II Fire Suppression System. Inside of it would be a single jacket, 1 and 1/2 inch diameter hose to be used in case of fire. Mind you I am a fire student, and it's places like here and many in my state of Ohio that make me hate Wal-Mart So much.
It looks a lot like a heavy duty leather sewing machine, used by saddle makers and cobblers, like another post said. Champion is a US brand that used to be popular. Some of the other pictures show harneses and braces, and that could be the sort of thing this would have sewn.
If that was what it was it would have had at least one foot lever. They don't have an arm like a normal sewing machine, you sort of sew on the side of it, not through it.
Angela,
If you hang around long enough you'll eventually find the thread it started in or catch on by yourself. It's kind of fun trying to work it out.
Good luck
It occurs to me just now as I revisit this page that my "gurney" had those movable side bars that prevent falling out which I think means it was a different kind of gurney from this one.
A complete shame the city or town would have let such a gorgeous place fall into complete ruin!! Everyone who lives there should be ashamed of themselves!
