I rode past the abandoned power plant on a bike ride about 18 months ago and wondered what it was. Now I know. It looks creepy from the Schuylkill River Trail.

These photographs are both beautiful and haunting, my compliments to the photographer. You have captured something that will never be seen again. I work nearby in Central Islip and can tell you that as of this message (June 2019) a massive building project is underway. The entire Sunburst complex is being renovated for what I believe will be office space. When I saw the construction fencing going up, I thought demolition for sure. But, following that, the interiors were gutted, the slate rooftops were fixed, and new windows were installed. Several adjoining multi story former hospital buildings are also being renovated, while others were demolished to make way for a condo complex.

Does anybody know what this room was used for. I like the retro floor tiles.

There was a boy here who bite off another boy's ear while my sister was staying there in the 1990's.

Actually that fence was there in 1993 when my sister was there.

Makes one think of the old Tombstone Epitaph, "As you are now so once was I; as I am now so you shall be." There once was a time when women were buried with expensive jewelry.. Animals could only get to the remains after vandals had broken in..

I love Cemeteries and Mausoleums!! It's sad but interesting to see the destruction of people's last resting places.. This is often what happens when the place is full, and no more money is coming in to pay for upkeep.. Thanks, Motts!!

It's sad when a person loses the right to his, her name when incarcerated.. And, if they die there, they aren't even identified by name after death if the remains aren't claimed..
