I'd rather not discuss that kind of information due to legal reasons; besides, I'm sure things have changed since I visited 10 years ago!

I think the only readouts on this machine were numbers, like on a digital alarm clock; the rest is a decal.

Nah, I chose one that was less painful looking!

Nope, the central dome was even bigger than that one, and unfortunately it had already fallen in and burned with the rest of the administration area by the time I visited. Here's a different angle of this cupola: http://opacity.us/image9740_cupola.htm

Yes the old Kirkbride building (these photos) and nearby structures have been razed, although other buildings (built circa 1940 I'd say) still function as Taunton State Hospital.

I believe it's still owned by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, another elephantine hospital building too costly to renovate or tear down.

I recall there being a security guard; the tricky part was getting to the building without him noticing.

Didn't see the rest of him anywhere... seems logical that the torso and heads of CPR dummies would be worth more than the legs and feet!

I thought it was Sparrows Point, but looking at a map I now believe those structures are the Herbert Wagner and Brandon Shores Generating Stations near Orchard Beach.

We drove by the Sparrows Point steel mill while we were down there, it looked incredible back then; seems to be mostly torn down now.

Thank you for the insightful comments. I think it's important to tell the story of this building and show what was left behind, however after some reflection, it does strike me as a breach of patient confidentiality to publish this photo as a third party. I've decided to blur out the faces, but also to keep this photograph online as a reminder of how often this happens.

Thanks for the info; sure if I find myself in St Louis again I'd love to return here.

The top row of doors are just to access the refrigeration machinery.

This building was last used as part of the Staunton Correctional Center, when they re-purposed the old psych hospital into a prison.

Sounds like a good guess tjcee - in the previous photo, you can see the shape intersecting with another, which has an air vent, and they look about the right size for HVAC ducts.

Yeah I can't imagine the town letting anyone near the place due to liability. LPN, I thought I had made another trip there, but I don't have any more photos of Bennett, so it must've been a dream!

Thanks! I've got a few more New Orleans places to post; they were powerful places to see. Nope, no paranormal experiences for me...
