I've never been to Rocky Point but I'd love to see it, I wish I was around at the time it was in full swing. :/

stumbled upon your site while searching the web for abandoned sites. I am a born and bred Rhode Islander with many fond memories of Rocky Point. it closed down when i was a teenager and i remember how disappointing it was. We used to go there a few times a month. I've heard over and over for years now that they were going to build condos on the site, but I found a news article (video) that says they are going to turn it into a state park area. Apparently they opened up the shoreline last year (i had no idea about that!) and are hopefully going to be opening up the rest of the area. the link to the video is http://video.turnto10....nd.htm?q=rocky+point (hope that works!). it was just documented last month. I'm interested now in checking out the current state of the area, might take a ride down there tomorrow. Thanks Mr. Motts for the awesome memories your photos have brought back of a wonderful place and a staple of my and my friends and family's past.

My uncle got an Aliens arcade game and a game called Battle Shark from this arcade in auction. We still play them today!

All gone to decay, all lost, the people forgotten, robbed of their dreams, their dignity, hope.Shunned by the supposely healthy.I cry for those who closed their hearts to them.
This looks like where dead clowns would go to pee!!
What a shame... My first experience of an amusement park as a child was at Rocky Point. I went away for a long while, forgetting what "Rocky Point" was. After some time I returned to my family's home in Massachusetts due to deaths in my family. I then recalled "Rocky Point", a wonderful summer breeze of hope and spirit kindling. Once I ventured to embrace my childhood and its dreams, to my dismay found that it too had passed away. What a wonderful memory and feeling. One that you never wish to let go, like a dear friend or family member.

I am so jealous that you got there before it got demolished. The only two buildings remaining there are the Palladium and the Chowder Shack. Another cool place you should check out is Rocky Beach. There are a ton of abandoned beach houses that people were forced to leave when the land went bankrupt. All of the houses are still there.

Oh, yeah. There's a place in this world for Disney, and there's a place for places like Canobie Lake and Camden Park. I aawyls get a kick out of the breaking system on the Haunted House at Camden Park a big guy with a strong back who jumps in front of your car. You know, in all these years, I've never heard of anyone getting run over.

This dseign is incredible! You most certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
