?????? -I find it odd...coming across something like that ...(I'm 26 and my birthday is in the middle of October)
Scary as unknown govt/military experiments were, well...I only hope not too many people died (and not horrifically) for me to have my Paxil and Klonopin.
...I may not have suffered too badly, as the worst of my symptoms would consist of sobbing and refusing to leave my bed...Not major depression. Just anxiety flare-ups in the event of a stressful situation. Heck, I'd only be suicidal if I were convinced an apocalypse were falling around my ears.
-and if anyone doesn't know what an icebox is, it's original meaning is literal (for kitchen use, or even putting ice blocks and fans in an attic before modern A/C) now people might call a freezer an icebox.
My dad worked there when he was a teenager, his parents and brother worked there also. My dad had the honor of showing the "craziest" patients out of their room and show them movies. He has lots of memories of the place like accidently smashing a baby grand piano in the basement. There was a major infestation of earwigs in there that he had to clean up. Theres lots of interesting stories about the place like the procedures that they did
I worked at pilgrim from 1977-1983, for the food service department. I had a lot of good times there and also alot of scarey ones. I would like to see pictures of the dining rooms again ,but have'nt come across any. Does any one know where to look for those...also there are still a few buildings still opened, a friend of mine still works there since 1977,what a retirement she will have!
I'm actually a Long Island NY resident and have passed this building many times on my travels. I can report that not only is it creepy looking...but I usually see shapes floating along the lawns in broad daylight....the place just gives many people the creepy vibes. Blessed Be.
