Hi M25PA! I'm not so sure everyone on opacity would be missing me. ;o) I keep looking for paint that has that peeling effect for my house, but I can never find it at the store. Dead rats and body parts laying around I have already.
I would not want to stick my head into anything like this. (Even a new one.) I'm always afraid, knowing my luck, I'd be in it when it decided to malfunction, catch on fire, electrocute me, etc...I'll pass. LOL!!! I can envision all the big weird hair , too. :)
It's always a shame when things, especially instruments like this- gets left behind. BUT... after having several keyboards and pianos and organs over the years, some of them are quite heavy. One almost has to have Herculean strength or a team of people to move one, so maybe this was the reason they are left behind.
I wasn't around for a few more years in 1974, so this has literally been hanging there my entire life. That blows my mind, all the life I've lived, holidays, vacation, growing up, getting married, etc. etc... and it's been there the entire time. While life can be hectic and stressful, this little Christmas card calendar has been sitting quietly on the sidelines. Interesting how things work out like that sometimes. One of my favorite pictures. :)
I work for the police, and in the custody suites, the doors open outwards... It helps us to stay safe when inserting or extracting a violent prisoner, as we can perform the physical insert/exctrac procedure, and simply slam the door shut without getting our feet/hands/massive ego's stuck... Or leaving any other officers in there ;)
