Most likely the drawers were part of a Sacristy, where the Presider prepared for services. Garments and other regularly used supplies are normally kept right off the alter in many Churches. Perhaps this explains the drawers, etc.

I think most people start out with goodness in their hearts but life experience, influences, and choices change things. My brother and sister were reaised thinking that the world owes them a living....it's been a difficult life for them and it keeps getting worse. They just don't learn. I am 54 yrs old, not rich but try to do the right thing. Follow your heart and be kind to people - it makes life sweeter!
