Thanks Lynne. I remember after the first study came out, a man in my city painted his house that color thinking that no one would break into it because they would calm down. Talk about ugly.

it did repaint it when it was found increased exposure would have the opposite effect. I'm sure the neighbors were happy.

kind of weird how no one has ruined that and it stays nicely intact, in most other places the thing would be tagged all over, nice shot

Very different then most of your pictures, Motts. I like them a lot and would appreciate seeing more of them in this style in the future.

Interesting history, Demon Alley aka New City has.

<< The land is owned by the Newark Watershed Commission, and has been abandoned as long as anyone can remember. There is a compelling story of how one madman managed to invite his neighbors on New City Road to his home one night and kill them all in one fell swoop. I haven't seen any news stories to back that up, but historians and local officials do not deny the story, either. >>

On the NJ turnpike near exit 9,,on the east side of the turnpike. There is an old car ferry..Its been there over 25 years. When I was much younger and visit my cousins. Every time we got on the turnpike and headed north.....I would just stare out the window and look at that old car ferry....Its way up on a muddy, mucky shore line...When I became much older I wanted to travel and see it up close..I hope one day you will visit it.

DIXMONT UP DATE. IF YOU GO OVER THERE GET PERMISSION. IF NOT YOU WILL BE ARRESTED.
I just got done talking to the superintendent of the job, and the police
They are beefing up patrols on the property due to the fact that they have had equipment vandlesed/sabotashed. Just today someone stole a 50 ton dump truck and drove it through a building on the hill, causing a lot of damage to the truck.
