I enjoyed your pictures very much. I attended the Salesian summer camp during the summers of 1968 and 1969. I could draw a map of the grounds today, as if I was still there, in very vivid detail. As a for instance, behind the hill on which the Tower is located were horse stables. There was alos a rifle range near the vicinity of the cemetery.
I ate many meals in the dining room of the Mansion & played on the swings that were located in the area directly in front of the entrances to the dormitory. Among other things, the auditorium was used for movies on Saturday nights and a banquet for the end of the camp season. Good job!
The people living/working/whatnot in that big nice white House below - every time the look up...they see
There is a Mansion on the Hill...
And a decrepit ramshackle one in distress.......at that
- Wonder what it feels like.

- and i am thinking /a lot/ about how and what the families living all around The dilapidated decrepit Halcyon/BennettS.F.G. are thinking, too, seeing this run-down ramshackle every day. Must be such sadness to grasp....depressing also.....
May the road rise to meet you, lpn -
and we will try to stay updated, and keep posted. OK?
Yeah those are fire bells and an alarm button below, you can also see the smaller general purpose bell above. There are a few more captured in Mott's work around this site, trying to find them all is like an easter egg hunt:) If I saw these in person, I could probably tell who made it, as I frequently admire old alarms whenever I see some. -Robert B.

Are those some sort of alarm bells on the right wall in front of the door?
There also seems to be a push-button box below them, all attached thru an electrical conduit. Fire alarms? Panic buttons maybe?????
I worked here for a few years back in the 1970's. Loved everyone of the residents. Some spent entire lifetimes behind locked doors. We had a great team of dedicated professionals and a few like me that took them out for warm sunshine and cool spring breeze. I can still see their lovely faces remember most of their names and hear their now silent voices.
