I think this pic really sums up urban decay. Something so simple as a light switch made a million times more interesting by nothing more than time.

Sorry to post on something old I am new here and I just really like this shot.

Take out the graffitti...imagine the pool full of sparkling water...see me laying back on yellow chaise....This must have been awesome in it's day. It is still so bright!

Again..I don't understand..WHY leave the plants and take all the curtains?????? LOL

Now why would they remove all the curtains here, but leave all the lobby seating and the dining room intact? Doesn't make sense to me..

If you had a thin arm and wrist, you could reach up the shute fairly easy and maneuver one can at a time out. Bottles were much trickier. Nowadays, you need a bomb.

I want one of those lights for my living room!!! I would refurbish it of course...I wonder if I can still get those bulbs anywhere....

Motts...you never said where this plant is ..my hubby would like to know. He is pretty knowledgable about power plants, but he never heard of Eagle River. In U.S. or not?

My husband is a power plant operator here in New England. His comments on these pics.....Back then they designed really nice buildings..notice how art deco they seem.. Also notice the ceiling. Most plants were built with clear glass panels originally, but during war time all the glass was painted so as not to be detected as easily by enemy planes. Still true today that power plants are a big target...

I have a thing about staircases anyway, so this is an intriguing shot for me. Nicely done.

hmm looks like the early 80's even though i was born in 89' lol..but hmm wish i had some "change" wink wink (for those of you who didnt get it i was joking because today they usually cost a dollor)
