I have never visited Glenn Dale but I have been told, first hand, about some of the things that went on in there. My Grandparents met there in the 30's when they were both patients in on the TB ward. I haven't asked too much about what went on there, but some of the things my Grandfather has told me are some crazy, but true, stories.

I hope Someone will pony up the money locally to buy the structure before the developer finishes the process. this structure has been for sale for over ten years, as the locals turned their eyes away and let it deteriorate. i really have zero pity for those who now object to the new construction. someone is going to do something postitve with the property. it may not be what you envisioned, but then again, you dont have the cash to do anything other than complain. but hey, its a free world, and it is encouraged for people to share their opinions, even if they are shallow and self serving. it may be your backyard, but it isnt YOURS. just keep that in mind. next time if you want to save something, do it. dont just make a problem for those who do buy it. thanks!

It looks like a ghost all lonley

MY DAD, BOB JOHNSON, REPAIRED THE ROOF AND PAINTED THE WATER TOWER A DARK GREEN BACK IN 55 OR 56. HE RIGGED UP A BOSEN CHAIR TO GO UP AND DOWN AND SPRAY THE TOWER. I STILL REMEMBER HE WORE A SAILORS WHITE HAT INSIDE OUT TO COVER HIS HEAD. HE WORKED THERE FOR MANY YEARS STARTING IN 1939. HIS BROTHER, FATHER FRED JOHNSON, MY UNCLE WAS AT ONE TIME THE PREFECT AT THE SCHOOL. HE IS NOW BURIED IN THE CEMETARY OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE TOWER. FATHER FRED GAVE ME MY FIRST HAIRCUT IN HIS ROOM IN THE (NOW GONE) ADMIN BUILDING WHEN I WAS THREE YEARS OLD.
THERE ARE MANY MANY MEMORIES IN MY FAMILY OF THE SALESIAN SCHOOL.

I realize now it was "Canobie" not canopy lake.

Does anyone remember a quote written on th wall inside the haunted house "When there is no room left in hell, the dead walk the earth"
I'm trying to figure out if this was in the Rocky Point house or perhaps Canopy Lake Park or another New England park.
It would of been by the graveyard scene, I think.
