I just discovered this, great pictures, thanks to whoever posted them and for the comments. My Dad was a projectionist for many years running machines just like these. He used to talk about selling the copper drippings from the arc lamps as scrap metal; I have a small bag with maybe a couple pounds of them. Anybody know if these drippings were in fact all or mostly all copper?

There is no film for these to show now everything is digital and sent to cinemas in this format and loaded to system no need for projectionist. Set program up in small pc screen can be multiple films trailers advertising to easy.So many 35mm projectors went to dumps.
I worked at Rpc 37 years. 15 years as therapy aid 2 years as Lpn and 20 years as Rn. Your article was very interesting but my views and memories would have been some what different.I retire in1996 but I still have good ,sad happy and unhappy thought and events that I remember.
I set pins on these alleys in the early 50's before the automatic setters. A good setter could care for two alleys bur I could do only one.
