Stools from the NYIT College. Two of the wings (Wings 1 & 2) were used as Studio Spaces for their Architecture program. Wing 3 was classroom. Center wing was their adminissions office, bursar office, and library.
Yes - really a good look - like an old little town - all gone. Beautiful Style. Such charm .
Thanks for The Gallery.
We think differently....and build differently today - it is irreplacable - and demolished now....
I used to live across from the whole park for eight years in the big green old house but recently moved to Hamptonburgh in 2015. I loved the entire grounds of the property. I am only 13 so I was not here to see the mansion but I always rode my bike and walked my dog around the entire park! I love that school building so much. It was a piece of my childhood. I really hope they restore it. I was actually just there 20 minutes ago! Anyways, I just really like the building.
As a former "patient" of Springfield State Hospital these photos are a source of reminiscence of a bad point in my childhood. I was housed in a secure unit with primarily adult patients. My days were spent under the mind numbing haze of thorazine that was administered for the sole purpose of discouraging me from absconding. Running off was the reason I was in Springfield - the juvenile facility I had been in couldn't understand an inmate going AWOL. The thorazine didn't work, but did make me regret running off without adequate clothing. Thorazine caused extreme photosensitivity, so I wound up with really bad sunburns.
Forever haunted by soap dispensers for just one little comment long ago. Oh the humanity! VERY awesome shoot, thnx again for sharing. Bummer about the punks. With no local urbex guide with you, planning a retreat to a secluded area to lay low would be difficult. All kinds of zero tolerance hell breaking loose, uncertainty regarding local authorities. Sometimes just showing that you have nothing to hide and are not the problem works best. If you don't get chopped up with a sickle, that is.
"Selection principals", *snicker*. Somebody put a lot of work into that set of doors. Very cool! You know you're going to HELL if you break those! Breaking all the other stuff is ok though.
Silly me. Here I'm thinking the best way to avoid being bombed by the allies would be to not a be a fascist rat that aligns with folks like the Nazis. Could have tried that. Long ago though, and a much better Italy today.
