My family and I stayed at the Pines Hotel every summer from 1958 through 1976. It is so sad that it was left to ruins. Hopefully it will be restored one day .
i live in the town next to hamp, and me and my friends would always take late night trips to the older hospital, that really got me into parinormal studies and older buildings, i love this place
I watched the parnormal celb project on vh1 over the weekend and the place looked trashed. I saw the staircase and it had all kinds of debre on it . Im so glad I got to see it through Motts eyes .
nevermore, you're just SCREAMING out for Lynne here, aren't you. -_-; surely, I hope that was supposed to be funny...
if you want my opinion, the room seems rather ornate, yet tacky... but welcoming all the same. I wouldn't mind being in a room like this one if I had to spend my days in a mental hospital. its better than no decorations at all!
Barking - I'm glad that you're so intelligent, but let's try not to make our comments so insulting. Please read the below note reference leaving flaming comments.
My father worked in the Kettle building for 15-20yrs before they closed the hospital down. This shot, as was explained to me by a co-worker, is a chick incubator. As everyone who is familiar with NSH, it is a huge campus, and was pretty much self-sustaining. Appearently they had their own dairy farm, powerhouse, laundry facilities, and also had employee efficiancy apt.'s as my dad stayed in one during my parents divorce. I can remember the huge gardens as my dad would take me to pick up his paycheck.
I worked at Pilgrim for 3 years, 1987-1990 as a phone technician. I remember going into these houses every now and them to fix a problem. At this time, patients who were able enough lived here and destroyed most of thsse. I remember being fasinated with the dumb waiters and finding all sorts of goodies on the bottom, old beer and soda cans, tobbacco cans and just all sorts of things. I haven't seen Pilgrim in about 10 years now.
