I had a dream about this place... I was forgotten.

I think that the alter used to be used as a place for Catholic mass on Sunday Mornings. The priest at the church in town used to serve the residents of the school

I'm a Belchertoiwn resident who is pretty aware of the situation at the State School. I noticed that some people had suggestions of why the tiles had come up. They were right. There are large holes forming in the roof where rain and snow constantly enters. Weede and saplings are begining to eneter through the floor holes. Paul McDirmit the developer ofthe proposed futre Quabbin Resort and Spa has proposed a renovation of the building. A new roof is schedualed to be installed sometime in late 2006 or 2007. The interior and exterior will be renovated soon after the old Auditorium will become a up scale banquet hall and meeting room

Jurassic park all over again. When will people learn you cant mess with nature. Its not right.

it is sick and twisted that people make jokes out of this. take your sexual comments somewhere else. people were tortured at this place and all you do is joke about it? try living there your whole life

Well ive never been in one of the buildings but ive seen em, and im sure its creepy as hell inside, but not haunted. By the way one guy up there said he heard something like a Dog breathing heavily, thats probably what it was. A building abandoned for 11 years now has to be infested with wild animals.

Looks can be VERY deceiving...

Tragic. At least they haven't torn the building down yet, but still... ...shoddy renovations are typically why these great buildings end up being abandoned in the first place. Tragic...
