there is a hospital in the upper u.p of michigan in a town called newberry i was 1 of the lucky people to enter and tour it do to being an imate on the same grounds anyway my comment because i dont remember the name of the hospital is if anyone has any photos of this place which is prob in my opion in 1 of the top shapes as far as condtions goes let me know i found alot of interesting things here i stay for a few minutes for a response

Holy Cow ! I worked on this ward ! They brought over patients from Islip Psych and the had this building when I was there. there were two female wards and two male from islip and couple of geriatric wards on the first couple of floors. I remember when that paint was somewhat new. The used to paint right over everything. the windows were so thick with paint you could barely get them open. This is so weird seeing it like this.

I used to work in this building. My grandparents worked at KPPC and my parents as well (Dutch and Irish immigrants). It does have a lot of history. I have mixed emotions about it being torn down. I know that it was a very sad place for a lot of people, but I feel it's a part of my own family history. I wish people who are seeking a quick thrill vandalizing the place would think twice about the Kings Park history that they are destroying.

This actually looks much like an enclosed wraparound porch on one of the many plantation homes down here in the south. It reminds me more of lemonade and circle skirts than padded rooms and nurses.
