My mom worked at Pilgrim and also had a room she lived in on campus. I can remember being very young and staying in the room while she worked and also seeing the patients when I was taken on the floors. This was back in the early 1960's. Pilgrim has always haunted me then and that is before people started talking about it.

I cannot believe how such a beautiful place could ever be allowed to be demolished. the buildings of today hold no such beauty.

I live one town over and for now its still standing. Back a few years ago when they had the bad fire a homeless man was killed in the fire (RIP). I know a few people who have gone and will never go back in... At least at night ever again. Supposedly when they were downstairs you could hear one of the chairs upstairs being dragged along the floor. Just different noises and lights coming from no where. Thanks but I'd stay the hell out. And yes the hospital driveway is patrolled regularly by the police. One police officer lives right near there too. I wouldn't be surprised if they've taken up motion detectors or even cameras by now with all of the arson that has gone on.

That video of those engines working is pretty cool, they look like they only ran somewhere between 60-100 RPM from the speed of the flywheels in the video. That's not a very fast running engine. You can also tell it was insanely noisy, too.
