I remember back in the mid to late 70's there used to be a giant bat hanging at the end of the ride just as you approached those double doors at the end. Scared the hell out of my sister every time.

This picture looks like it is taken from where you would get on the corkscrew rollercoaster, and you are looking at where you would get on the kiddie train.
Hi Liam,
David has contacted me, it's important to keep the facts and dates straight....
Looking forward to see a sample of the DVD.
Thank you for you reply.

Anita
Hi Anita,
I just spoke with David and we feel terrible that you are not happy with Conrad not being more of a focus in the film. Unfortunately due to the structure of the movie we just weren't able to fit in as much about as we wanted. We are however producing a feature on the DVD which will focus just on Conrad and his memory. From everyone we have spoken with we know he was a great man and the Park would not have been the same without him. David is going to be giving you a call shortly to talk about it. We couldnt have made the film without you, so we certainly want you to be happy with the finished product.

Thanks!

You Must Be This Tall: The Story of Rocky Point Park

I remember running around this building when I was a kid.
The memories are still vivid in my mind. The signts and sounds of people having fun. 70s tunes blasting from the Music Express, happy tunes from the carousel. Clake cakes and chowder and stepping into that dining hall for the first time and seeing hundreds of tables. The smell of the ocean, the huge saltwater pool. All memories that are now demolished to make room for luxury condos. :-(

It's where they hid Jimmy Hoffa.

My God, where have all the good times gone? I can close my eyes and remember the screams from the house of horrors, the Yo-YO, the musik express and I could go on and on. I use to go there every friday night. Mom and dad would drop off me and my sister off and pick us up round 11pm we use to have so much fun. Ride all the rides you could for 4.75 P.O.P bracelet. Those were great days. Such a shame that they tore down the buildings the even the entrance sign. Isn't anything sacred anymore?????
Yes, a correction is due.
Conrad Ferla was not the owner of Rocky Point Park, his brother Vincent and partners bought the property in 1947.
Conrad was manager until the Park was sold to Butco in 1969, he then became a share holder.
Budco sold in 1973 to a Company from Boston.
He was named president and general manager in 1973, until he resigned in 1986.
The Shore Dinner Hall, Palladium and Windjammer were the backbone of the operation.
Conrad is gone, but I would like to thank and remember all the wonderful people that worked for us and make the Park successful for so many years.
I view the the Rocky Point Documentary: You must be this tall.
Good documentary, but Mr. Rocky Point, Conrad Ferla, was not in the picture.
Very strange, the man dedicated his life to RPP and he was forgotten.
37 years as manager and president, 24/7, gone, not even a mention.
I guess that's life.
Very sad !
I write this note in his memory.

What great memories of RP. Those pics of how the park now stands are so depressing. Other than taking atleast an hour and 1/2 there is no amusement parks around here now. You now have your choice of Six Flags, Canobie, Lake Compounce, etc. All big $$ admissions. The days of my parents packing us kids up and pending the day at RP. During the hot days of the summer, you would stand at the fence of the flume, get soaked from one of the logs coming down, then get on a ride like the Enterprise or the Musik Express. Oh the days!! Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Lots of cherished memories....we'll all miss you Rocky Point!
