Have looked every where for pictures to match my memories! Thankyou for this site and these pictures! This was my magic play ground just as the pictures show it 30 years ago. I carefully explored it many times!

I went there when I was little. It's definitely nostalgic, sad and a bit creepy seeing these photos. You do great work!

My daughter used to go to the EF in the late 80's and early 90's and was taken by her Aunt at the time. She absolutely loved it and has very fond memories of it. I, on the other hand have never been there and kinda wished I had when it was open. These pics are awesome as are all the pics for all the places.

I remember being terrified of the boat when I was a kid! I'm thankful that I can share my EF memories with my kids. Many of the pieces are at Clark's Elioak Farms not too far from the original site.
Wow.....these pics make me so nostalgic. I have lived in Maryland all of my life. I remember my dad taking me there almost every weekend, because i loved it so much.....1973 ....I was 5 years old.

I can't help thinking the place looks more Enchanted abandoned then it did when is was opened to the public. One can only hope it will always be just this way and not me disturbed by a developer.

Seems what has saved it from complete demolition is that it is sitting down in a gully that would be hard to do anything with accept use as park land or water shed.
I can almost see the local land spirits using this as a grand ball room to gather for feasts and merry making.
I remember this passageway as a kid, 40 plus years ago. It was creepy then. These photos bring back memorie of the past and create new ones.
HAve you ever seen "Spirited Away" ? It was about an abandoned amusement park inhabited by the land spirits, or what the old Norse called Landvættir . These photos evoke that sense that the forest land spirits have taken over this forgotten place. Really beautiful.
Hey Mott and everybody. The fake stone work is immediately identifiable by any Baltimore native. It's FormStone! And it's NO surprise that it has held up so long. That stuff will survive a nuclear war. I once tried to have some removed. Ahh, formstone, so tacky and wonderful...
