I don't know if this site is still active or not but i am a student doing an internship at a mental health facility. I was just informed that many of our clients lived through Penhurst so i decided to do some research and came accross this site. My heart is breaking for all of the Penhurst clients who had negative experiences however i am so thankful for those who worked hard in keeping the clients happy and alive. Many of clients are doing very well and are now Happy. I of course am only speaking for the clients that i have worked with but they seem Happy!!

Although this is only my second posting, I have first hand knowledge of this facility for 2 reasons. 1. My mother worked here from 1974 until it closed.
2. I am in the National Guard and and worked in this building for several years.

The majority of the property is owned by The Department of Military and Veteran's Affairs. The National Guard is not there to keep trespassers out, it is in fact a National Guard Readiness Center, where training is performed. The ADA unit referred to by Scared_dude is no longer there, it has been replaced by a Field Artillery unit and an Engineer unit.

Later model of the V-9 was called the V-500 and had a 588 series HV transformer. This was discontinued in 1968. Both the V-9 and V-500 had the "Pictronic 500" logo on the front.
