..I'd be interested in just the spotlight.. that thing's all metal and glass, so it won't fall apart. Even now, it'd be worth 'bout $300-$500.

In one of the buildings we found pieces of a rabbit that had been laid out almost like it was sacraficed...my guess, someone put the cat in there, but it was probably a kid, after the buildings had closed...future serial killers...

i also got a shiver when i seen this - it would be very tempting to just slide the lid across and take a peak inside.

I'm in Australia and i cannot belive the USA allows these wonderful building to be pulled down. We convert ours or turn them in to museums like Ararat, the 14 so buildings of Mont Park, Melbourne are now houses of grandness.

hi its pretty scary in black pool haunted house on pleasure beach but we was at the back so we knew there was some thing there but the really scary part of it the monsters was following me cos i was at the back but most of the monsters was from films like exorsist and scooby doo monsters unleased.

Live in the same town been by it several times but I needed to get fingerprints taken at the DDSO for a job and I realized it's alot bigger than it seems...

Yep definetely a coffee/staff room. Which isn't sayin much.. LOL I can still see the small table in the far rite corner. Some of the Staff coffee rooms had windows that viewd the Day rooms so you could see the patients. At least building 22 did on ward 226.. But it was sooooo long ago.

goes to show how time really changes things...... These builiding didn't look like this at all when i worked there the last two years before they closed down.

This looks like one of the rooms we used to put patients in when they we on 1 to 1's.. The patient was put in a sheet restraint or jacked and tied down. A staff memeber would have to sit in the room with them by the door and watch them. Patients in Sheet restraints or jackets were to be released at specific intervals to check circulation and vs and make sure they were ok. The patient was usually so drugged up, that by the time they were in the restraint for 15 mins they were usually asleep and didn't need it any more..... So so sad what these patients were put through!

Most of the Doors to the Med rooms had Split doors to open the top half and keep the bottom half closed while giving out meds. But no one ever did that. I worked in Bld 22 (Admissions) Ward 227 was the worst unit.. It was the One where the prissioners from the jail were kept and Prison staff were kept on unit. Unit 225 Was nicked named "The Zoo" It was patients from Islip east end, huntington, Depending what town you lived in determined what unit you were put on...... Let me tell you this JOB SUCKED!!! We got hazardious duty pay for working in building 22.. Oh and all doors opened with one skeleton key that all staff had on them to get from place to place.

Dang people, there is nothing creepie about Kings park.. I worked there as a nurse the last two years before it closed down. The only thing that was creepie was the staff that worked there that were more messed up then the patients.. There was tons of patient abuse, Nurses giving patients meds that were prescribed for other patients. Blanket partys at night, where staff would cover a patient with a blanket and beat the crap out of them.. This was my first nursing job and all i can say is THANK GOD THEY CLOSED IT DOWN!

...i dont know if you got the chance to see this place at night. its relatively creepy. from the front of the building just to the right of the entrance on the top floor, there is a light on in the window.

... i have always found this place so intriging.
