It looks like the ceiling once had stick on acoustic tiles but they have all fallen off. There isn't any debris on the files though so it must have happened earlier. Strange.

I was here last night on the roof for the meteor shower. Definitely scary because of patrol presence but worth seeing every star in the sky AND 8 or 9 shooting ones!

Note, there is someone who kind of looks after the property. Also note, the insides are damaged and we didn't trust the flooring structure when we went a decade ago. I would be very careful if visiting due to the total degradation of the building.

The administration building was originally the wardens house where he and his family lived.

What you are looking at here is the top floor of the new wing where as many as 80 to 100 inmates were housed and slept on metal cots in a dormitory style setting

My grandmother worked here as an occupational therapist from 1950 to 1970 when she retired. She lived on the grounds of the State Hospital. I wonder if there would be references to her and her work with patients. She taught them Swedish folk art cross stitch and embroidery. Idle hands that work of the devil and all, I imagine.
