Lynne, why do you take this so personal all the time?

That chair was for staff, the clients sat in metal chairs or benches against the wall.

Danvers is beautiful on the outside, but what about the things that happened on the inside? Very scary. Danvers had so much patient abuse. My grandmother witnessed a nurse picking a patient up by their hair once. See what I mean?

My grandmother got locked in the violent ward once. (she was just visiting her mother, who was in Danvers for deprssion issues), and you had to climb the stairs to get to each floor, and one time, she got locked in the hallway with the violent patients by accident. After some extreme knocking on the door, she got out. She said it was horrifying though.

This is a very interesting picture. It looks like the roof collapsed, but it also seems like one of the walls fell.

Now THAT is fantastic!

This is a door that was made by York for a refrigerated storage "locker". These were used to store many different things...from medicines to food to furs... I actually looked up the old sales order for this hospital. We still have the records.

Yes - York is still very much in business. I am the Senior Product Engineer for York. I was just poking around this site and to my surprise found this great photo. This set of Gages was used on reciprocating compressors. Ammonia was the refrigerant, not Freon. The wrench in the foreground was also made here at our factory in York, Pennsylvania. In those days we made all of our own parts including the gages and tools. The compressor in the background of the photo actually is not for air conditioning but is a small refrigeration unit. We currently make A/C and refrigeration units up to 3000 Horsepower. - Great Photo! -
My fathers best friends son is autistic. He's very calm though, apparently it's sort of a catatonic sort of autisism. He rarely moves but he is HUGE, the massive growth is also part of it.
I think mental disorders such as autism and downs symdrome are a bit more acceptable. For some reason it's the idea of people hearing voices and arguing with walls that seems to freak more of society out.
