I believe I watched a program on this asylum and supposedly some physical abuse to patients (beatings) stemming from the fact that this hospital had lots of L shaped halls and blinds spots where the majority of the spread out staff would be unaware.
Not 100% sure as that may have been a british prison that look similar to this place , also the abuse took place in the 60's.
