I love how the nature has taken over the manmade building, greenery pouring out of every nook and cranny. Great photo!
Cheratte is an old friend of mine, and your pictures of it are just delightful. Then days, even industrial sites like this were built with such care and dedication.

It is sad to see wonderful buildings like this to be left to just deteriorate away. On the other hand - it would be even sadder to see them being restaured into something semi-modern, all-commercial like big business HQ.
Bodies brought in dead or "...high risk". High risk of what? Dying? That is the oddest sign I ever saw.
My guess is that the round thingy on the foreground is actually detached from the electric cord thingy on the background, and they just happened to be put on the same surface. The round thingy was probably used for heating things, while the other... a lamp?
Eerie. I sometimes dream of an abandoned building - it's always the same building, almost but not quite recognisable - and a few nights ago I was collecting forks and spoons from its grounds. They were in boxes like the one in this picture, and the boxes were in the corners of the building - I wonder what Freud would say...?

Wonderful photo.
I like the way how the people in the pic are slightly blurred, as if they took a part of it with them when they went.
I am actually glad they are restoring it - it may loose some of the romance, but at least it will keep on existing.
Does Sleeping Beauty sleep behind that door?
I heard that the state of N.Y has decided to restore this place. What a relief, after they tore down Danvers. What amazing photos you have taken!
This picture - this whole place - is just sad. A dumping place for people no-one was too eager to have.
I did. The text just looks so out of proportion, and if that is a normal-height door, high too.
I'm laughing so hard my sides hurt. This is just nuts.
What always buzzles me in these is the stuff that gets left behind. I mean, if I was to abandon a place I would clean and empty it, not just leave everything to where I last needed it.
Was that orange writing on the wall or did you photoshop it? No matter how much I look this picture, it won't make sense.
I think there are two people standing in the other end of the corridor, two little girls in matching dresses. Or maybe that's just me.
