TO:Lynn,the best love is the love you give and you give alot. This other half of the comment is for those who think that these instututions were grounds for abuse,the worst thing I wittnessed was not the people in the instution { old folks home ,shcools for the mentally ill,and a safe haven for those who are lost in socity } including those who work there, are those who forget that there loved ones are there.Just drop them off or know there, there and do nothing but let them rot, thats the worst abuse ever seen.

I was on a business trip and passed by this. I stoped to take some pics. What a beautiful place this is. I have read through all the posts above and think that it's sad they are going to tear it down. I thought it was much older but guess not. Anyway, I enjoyed the woman who posted a response who attended this school. I'd love to hear more stories like that.

Yes, in varying forms. One kind is a hard plastic, not really padded per se, more stain-proof, rounded corners for safety, and more sound proof than a normal room like this: http://www.opacity.us/...1239_padded_room.htm

Others have a thick pad, similar to a gym mat placed on the walls and floor. Photos coming soon.

I've seen what can only be described as a literal "rubber room" once, it was a rather large room lined with a thick rubber material along the walls, floor and ceiling. Photos coming as well.
