twisteddman...I'm near Salem, Oregon now. Can you give me any more details? I did see an Enchanted Forest Theme Park on the east side of hwy 5 while I was north bound. But it was like an amusement park. There is another one just south of Seattle also just off hwy 5 on the east. Again it is an amusement park. Anyway, I'll ask around also.....

Jeff, Navy sub chasers were made of steel, this is a rescue tug, it it made of wood. The 1264 is in the yard but closer to shore. This was Hila formerly USS ATR 89. Auxillary Tug Rescue. There were 3 Rescue tugs in the yard. These were steam boats, the sub chasers were diesels.

This is a former Navy ATR Rescue tug. It was ATR 89 later named HILA. The USS PC 1264 was closer to shore. That is the truth.

there is an enchanted forest in salem oregon.it is very similar to this place and i wonder if this is where they got the idea. its been open since the sixtys and its still open

It is a Pennsylvania RR lighter. Nothing else! It was built as PRR 115, Later named Bucyrus.

I agree, Ellis Island would be a fantastic project for Motts. I took the tour years ago and the feeling I had walking around there reminds me of the feeling I get looking at Motts's pictures. Hopefully one day Motts will get in there!

Another thing to consider is that while embalming and airtight seals may not have been around when these souls were laid to rest, they did use other types of incense and ointments to...combat the smell. Also, I doubt very seriously that many people would be re-entering a crypt any time soon after someone was interred. I'm sure there was some part of their culture or lore that forbade it.

I look at this photo, and I feel...loneliness. A beautiful casket, but at the same time a person awaiting eternity. A train station to the hereafter, with one lonely soul on the bench listening for the train's approaching whistle.

Motts Were there any ramps there?

What great pics! I worked there (obviously at a different business) until just recently and besides the building I worked in and the tunnel connected to that building I never had a chance to do other exploring, besides walking the grounds. I have some pics of the inside of the power supply building but all they show is water and mold (it's condemmed and very apparent why). While working there I remember a few different times that kids had explored the grounds and showed me some interesting finds: spoons, dentures, etc... Again - great pics!!
