They brought over patients from Islip Psych and the had this building when I was there. there were two female wards and two male from islip and couple of geriatric wards on the first couple of floors. I remember when that paint was somewhat new. The used to paint right over everything. the windows were so thick with paint you could barely get them open. This is so weird seeing it like this.

I used to work in this building. My grandparents worked at KPPC and my parents as well (Dutch and Irish immigrants). It does have a lot of history. I have mixed emotions about it being torn down. I know that it was a very sad place for a lot of people, but I feel it's a part of my own family history. I wish people who are seeking a quick thrill vandalizing the place would think twice about the Kings Park history that they are destroying.
