i believe that art can be illegal, most of motts' photography is technically illegal because he's not supposed to be in these buildings. the graffiti in this photo isn't art because it's not creative, it's just like a dog or cat marking it's territory. a real graffiti writer would do something that suits the area. for example: http://www.opacity.us/image4361_vaulted.htm see my comment)

it's a shame that most graffiti artists use their talent just to let people know that they were there, the big one in the middle, in my opinion accentuates the beauty of the building.

You do realize this is the Internet and there are probably a lot more like me who knew the place when it was vibrant and good, but don't post to be subjected to your childish crap. Yes, it was a sacred place, and it's too bad there's nothing sacred in your miserable lives.

Usually, I'd be prone to whine about graffiti, but I think in this circumstance, it actually adds character. It's not your characteristic stylized "Nuggz wuz here" or the usual obscene body part graffiti we see in America. Here, it's colourful and artistic.
I kinda' admire it.
