I CAN CONFIRM THE HALL HAS NOT BEEN DEMOLISHED BUT IT IS NOW ON PRIVATE PROPERTY SO IM SORRY BUT NO MORE PICS
I don't think bodies are normally frozen because the tissues would develop frostbite like damage.

My knowledge of pathology is limited so I might be wrong here.

The outside of the building is like fancy gift wrapping and this hallway is disapointing gift truly. I see your point Motts, all of those pipes are an awfull thing to do to such a piece of history.

Even with the eye you have had with your photograph quality Motts, I wonder if there was a point of time where the kid in you had a rock in your hand with the windows being several of the focal points in your pictures.
This was one huge fire, seen for miles! Destroyed 7 new apartment buildings that were not completed yet. There was an areal shot of it in the Worcester Telegram.
I went to the Avalon Bay webcam to see if I can see shots of the place after the fire and they put a password protect on it.

These spires remind of the ones that are on Worcester States' Kirkbride buildings.

I am curious to know how these fires started.
I am a dumb ass.. LOL i forgot this MAY help a little bit .. sorry. (Mind you about the photos I would give you complete and FULL credit for the photos I used of yours- that's only right!!
