Elegance meets the street. I love it.

Sort of "Come with me, this is what awaits you..."

This would make a great cover for a book of your photographs. The different shades of the staircases and their elegant banisters are such a great contrast to the wretchedness of the foyer. And the open door just invites someone to take a journey with you into the ruins of a once-elegant era. This picture is like the perfect introduction to photographing abandoned places. :-)

Wow the bridge and the lights in the back makes the old place look really isolated. I like the effect ! even though it's sad.

it hasnt been built to a school i was just ther yesterday its still there and yea there was a fire but theres other ways in and i couldnt find the morgue but found some freaky dentist chairs

I must say, F.A, you do get extra points for continuing to amaze me with your buffoonery! Just when it seems you've reached the summit of Peak Foolishness - you manage to take it up yet another level! Once more you've "invented" comments from previous postings to fit your rants. NO ONE has suggested the VILLAGE purchase Bennett, rather, what HAS been remarked by myself and others, is that the village has a RESPONSIBILITY to "watchdog" our Historic Resources, especially one that is so HUGELY associated with our families and town heritage, (AKA priceless commodities) and certainly for a vast number of years, let us not forget what a treasure it presented for our economy. Funny, how Millbrook kept it's nose out of the distasteful business of Halcyon's demise, but my, how interested they have become now that the scent of development $$$ is in the air. Alas, in parting, dear F.A, I can't say it hasn't been fun, but it all comes down to what a wise man once said: "There's no arguing with a fool."

you know it's pretty sad people don't care anymore about history or therefor no respect. Someone that once worked here or lived here could come on here and see this, this place might have meant something special to someone. I feel its just wrong to vandalize these buildings, but I guess that is my opinion.
