You have no idea the thoughts and reflections that you have caused me to have after seeing your photos of "The Laurals" Cherry Knowle Hospital. I trained as a psychiatric nurse at this hospital and looking at your photos remined me of many staff and patients who walked these corridors. If filled me with great sadness to see its state, but things have moved on. It is easy to look back in judgement of the past and fail to see the great goodness that was given and recieved in these places in times gone by. Many thanks for the opportunity to look around the Laurals.
oh, and Motts I neglected to mention how good you are at all of this, but its a given. you have got brass balls of enormous breadth my friend. its amazing how beauty can exist in all this straight up ugliness.
dude, its a cannibal corpse song. end of story.

sometime last spring somebody tried to steal the locking mechanism from that peticular autoclave. I dont think they realized how heavy it was, for it was laying onyl about 4 feet away near the door of the room. I didnt realize either when i tried to take it and it felt like a pulled a muscle trying to lift the damned thing...

So Motts, what IS that thing sitting in the doorway? I normally don't see the "faces" or "ghosts" that other people claim to see, but it looks like someone sitting on the floor with their legs up. I'm sure you guys don't wear shorts in these places, so do you remember what it was that made that image?

I love the way the light frames the picture.

Now this is a contemplative piece.

Actually...I have a display stand with glass shelves that has the same design as that around the mirror.

Cool. It looks almost as if the stairs go to nowhere, Sarah Winchester-style.

Jeez, Grant and Jason would love that sink!
Jmac, nice shots.
Bob, go back to that picture and READ what it was, think about it, how could REAL blood be there from all those years ago???
Hmmm....lemme see, I'm pretty sure it was FOOD, probably the institutional kind, sort of like we get at the hospital where I work every day, overcooked veges, mystery meat, etc, but I'm sure it came from a freezer and then went into the oven. Cripes.
Sad to see the levels to which the posts have sunk.
