So sad to see how a piece of art and history just left to erode. Just looking at the architectural work done in the rotunda makes me sad to see that this company never saw the need to establish a memorial fund to continue preserving this landmark. Another part of history just left to fade away. I want to thank this site for keeping it alive through here!
@murray
Hmm, not sure how I'm feeling about this. On the one hand you're letting the creator know about the scumbag thief, so +1. On the other hand you're being a squealer, and a kiss-ass (but there's no shortage of that around here, so no points subtracted for that) -1. Total - EVEN Let us agree, Karma will come swiftly to deliver sweet justice to the foul creature, AND let the punishment of being a morally, and clearly creatively bankrupt empty vessel, be a constant reminder from their own conscience!
Oh, and people are stupid! They'd rather buy partical board furniture for $700 that lasts 3 months, than spend half that amount on beautiful vintage/antique furniture (and this is coming from an idiot with absolutely ZERO class, and very little knowledge about such things.) I've purchased old furniture, refinished/repurposed it, and there is NO comparison! The Quality, the aesthetic. There's very little work needed to end up with something you actually want to be a permanent fixture in your home.
@eldokid I can give you an answer that, while long winded, is sure to cover any/every possible situation regarding your query... [ahem].
BLOODSUCKING LAWYERS!
Waddaya know, that wasn't as long winded as I thought it would be.
OMG, this pic give me chills thinking that among those millions of slides are probably slides that represent each one of poor souls that were murdered here.
