I think it is kinda cheesy really....the round room is interesting enough.....but the colors well don't do much for me. Maybe back in 'the day' it looked much better than this....at least I sure hope so that is......Nice shot Motts.....

I was here! A couple of friends and I were curious and decided to walk around, and we found ourselves in this morgue. We weren't looking for this particular part or anything, we didn't even know it existed, but we just happened upon it. Obviously we were really suprised and freaked out. Just a word of warning to anyone who was thinking about doing the same thing: BE CAREFUL! There are homeless people who live in the abandoned parts of these buildings and they might not take kindly to strangers intruding into their "home".

Yeah I must say this picture does creep me out some...I can't believe there are lights on period. Strange really. Cue the 'Halloween' music theme please someone. I'd be afraid someone would come out of one of those doors any minute and like scare me to death......what did you say about Waverly Hills, the queen. I thought some lady owned it? So it was sold?? Interesting thats for sure........More info if you have it please.....

I must say this is a mess thats for sure....but thats what happens when places are left empty.....wow....time warp.....

This could be the C9 day room. C8- was the admissions building and was also locked. C8 and C9 were male buldings. After patients were checked in at C8 and processed, they would normally be moved to C9. The patient population in C9 was often older. I worked at Byberry from 1968 to 1979. I still have the key chain we used to get in and out of the buildings.

I also hope that they did salvage some of this stuff. Otherwise what a total wate really.....if you ask me that is......

What a shame the building couldn't be saved. This lobby photo (esp the before & after shots) are incredible. It really must have been beautiful in its hey day. Thanks again for your wonderful photos , Motts. I look forward to this gallery as well as many many more from you....for I still have much to look through as well as the 'new' ones you will be posting esp from your trip. Can't wait. Well on to this one. It really must have been a beautiful place in its day.

i think all of these pictures of the hotel are a little erie. i live about 15 minutes from the hotel and it's said to be haunted now. i wouldn't doubt it. its so creepy looking, an old run down building on the top of a hill.
