I really like the darkness in the background here.
LOVE THIS PLACE INSIDE OUT!!!! A GREAT EXPLORE AND EXPERIENCE!!!!
Not my cup of tea that's for sure. I suppose there was nothing else of interest to photograph in that room except that stupid dummy. Crap like that doesn't usually bother me but I do think the prank went way too far.

Really nice job on these, Motts. That room is incredibly hard to shoot in, but you came away with some very striking photos.

Normally I like hallway pics but there is just something not right about this one. I don't know, maybe it's just the mood I'm in.
I watched the show tonight on pennhurst..was wondering if Motts helped to film this.....
Thanks for the link to this video Mr. Motts. How horrifying and chilling. How shameful that Freeman was allowed to continue this for so long. It is courageous and admirable that his sons agreed to participate in this video, and I feel they are correct in that Freeman started out wanting to help patients. He should have stopped when patients were killed, and, as his son says, he should not have changed his motives for doing the procedure from one of trying to help patients, to trying to "empty" out the asylums by lobotomizing people and sending them home. The problem with the town is that they didn't enforce zoning laws that require property owners to maintain their properties. They just sat and watched it decay and always thought it was somebody else's problem.
Now it is the town's problem. The piper always gets paid.

I've heard so many horrible things about this place it blows my mind to an extent were i can barley think about how many lives were lost and what the people staying here had to suffer through.

It's not about the amount of people that died here.. its how they died. I hear that this hospital was one of the worst, with lots of abuse. That can lead to distressed spirits and such.....
I don't know what it is about morgue pics that interest me but they do.
I know this is off topic but there was this one episode of Ghost Hunters where Steve and Dave were in a morgue and got onto the slabs with a recorder. That was wicked cool. That's what I wanted to say darn it, these shots are wicked cool.
Interesting angle.
