There is an actual face peering out of the large crack in the upper left hand corner of the room. Distinct, staring, creepy. I am a local artist and my friend was showing me this site when she saw the face. I enlarged it. It is real. Stop going to Pennhurst. Push for this place to be demolished or turned into a memorial. This should not be an attraction. People were tortured and murdered here. Justice was not served. Many victims of this place still live amongst us in phoenixville, spring city, etc. This sick fascination with the suffering of others is wrong. Read a book

is there asbestos in the buildings, because i know acouple of peopple who went in recently without masks and i was wondering if it is dangerous

I grew up one street away from this place. I don't watch tv or movies. I do not play video games. The landmark court case that closed Pennhurst is public record. It is a class action suit known as Halderman vs. Pennhurst State School and Hospital. It was found that patients were in fact abused. Cut and paste the following web address.
