Love the soap dish, we live in an older part of town (nice house) and we have the old bear claw bathtub with the EXACT soap dish hanging on it. I Love the dish and always wondered how old it was, now I guess I can sort of imagine the time period. Your photos to say the least are FANATISIC. Please keep them coming! :)
Sparky: "...She had to hold onto something like this, while the doctor performed the surgery..."
Ughh, a similar method of adenoid-ectomy was detailed in Roald Dahl's autobiography. Back when adenoids and tonsils were considered a useless nuisance.
"I see only one other person has commented on this type of pan being used for ear flushing. I definitely remember having one of these held up to my reclined head while cold gooey wax and peroxide dripped out of my ear. I had frequent ear problems as a kid so I never thought about them being used for any other purpose.

Wow, and I quite disliked even the ear drops when I was young...
To quote Lynne:
"And, of course, no one ever even thinks that their own personal shiny stainless steel sterile-looking emesis pan may have been used by someone else previously. ;-)"
It's so...odd...how these places are unique, yet the interiors can very much resemble each other. I went on a weekend trip out to Louieville, and on the Waverly tour, our camera flashes lit up the otherwise pitch dark rooms , making the photos look as if there were fluorescent lights glaring off the dull gray and white paint. (it was SO hot that night, we were hoping for cold spots!)
The cookie-cutter condos of the present are a sad statement in comparison. A true Victorian building was never ordinary, even painted gingerbread trim adds so much personality.
me and my friends wanted to go to kppc so my sister drove us one day. in a matter of 5 minutes of being there, we got arrested. i want to go back so badly
Its called a crash gate. Its to stop the flow of traffic if someone starts running or there is a fight. that way you can contain things. this was probably a prison hospital wing. Inmates get sick too.
