These beds seem to be quite old. Horsehair ceased to be used as a mattress-stuffer around the end of the 40s, I believe. Defffffinitely not your regulation, hypo-allergenic hospital-approved stuff used today.

Sometimes when hospitals are evacuated, and particularly before demolition or renovation, crews go through to mark areas they are making sure are empty, spray-painting an x or something similar when they've checked. Some laws require this final check, due to squatters and -ahem- wandering photographers;). Dunno if that's what it is, but it's a possibility, and maybe they changed their minds about tearing up this area.

This made my mouth drop open, the colours of the rug is so vibrant it looks new, and to leave it behind at the value behind is crazy. But great find!

That's enough to make someone crazy, wondering when the next time the eyes are going to apear again. I wonder how many people's eyes were poked threw these.

Whoa. Just simply, whoa. Beautiful shot.

This looks a lot like the sign that used to be in front of my town's drive-in. I loved that place. The back of the screen was to the main street in town, it had a big read comedy and drama mask and said "DRIVE IN" in big fancy script. Now the space is occupied by a DrugMart, a Wal-Mart and a craptastic little strip mall that is mostly abandoned.

I've had some good times at drive-ins. Seen so REALLY horrid movies that I actually enjoyed because we were at the drive-in. It's a shame that this is a bit of Americana that is falling into distant memories. :-(
