Looks like it has been tore down, that is what the comment from jwaylon in 2011 stated.

Vaikea olisi tämän yhden kuvan avulla kertoa, missä tämä paikka sijaitsee. Onneksi on koko kuvasarja - ja tekstit. ;)

I lived in Newington from 65-74 and vividly remember the drive in and the lights on the sign as we came up to the intersection. Wonderful memories!
@ Snite - I know of that drive in. It's on Rt. 32 I believe on the top of this mountain almost. I always thought what a neat place for a drive in. Glad to see it's still there. Every time I went by I wanted to stop but I was driving a truck and working at the time so I couldn't. Now I should make it a point to get there before it closes, hopefully it never will!

I drove past this place almost every day, since I live just down the road from it. I was really upset when they turned it into condos. There was a part of me that hoped that someone would get it running again. Thanks for the memories Motts.

That's sad. I've been to the Edgemere Drive-In (Shrewsbury) and it's such a sad sight =( i hate when these places are abandoned.

I lived about 5 minutes down the road from this. I don't recall seeing movies there but I do remember that they used the parking lot as a flea market and I used to go there with my father. I guess this would have been in the early 90's. They toar this down within the last ten years I'd say.

1945 -- this would have been one of the earliest drive-ins. The first one was in the late 30s but then WWII almost stopped new development for civilian industry. This would have been a very old drive-in.
Whoa. Just simply, whoa. Beautiful shot.
This looks a lot like the sign that used to be in front of my town's drive-in. I loved that place. The back of the screen was to the main street in town, it had a big read comedy and drama mask and said "DRIVE IN" in big fancy script. Now the space is occupied by a DrugMart, a Wal-Mart and a craptastic little strip mall that is mostly abandoned.
I've had some good times at drive-ins. Seen so REALLY horrid movies that I actually enjoyed because we were at the drive-in. It's a shame that this is a bit of Americana that is falling into distant memories. :-(
