i agree with evilavatar.
also, you have to keep in mind that the building has been abandoned for years, and i'm sure the bars weren't quite as pronounced, for lack of a better word. there most likely would have been other things in the room that would keep the bars from being so much of a focus but more of just an aspect of the room.
Well from personal exp. I can't say the buildings were haunted but I can def say they were extremely creepy I never seen any ghosts or heard any dumb shit but that place is Lika huge maze when it's dark an all sense of direction is out the window I got lost in the tunnels as a youngin when I went AWOL from the old detention center that wus on the same campus spite curiosity of danger I mean the buildings themselves would play mind games wit yuh at nite time I got my hands on some old patient charts from the mental asylum that wus later used as a elderly home that said some pretty gruesome things an seen sum pretty horrific devices but never had any spiritual encounters lol all In all awesome pix it's exactly how I remembered it =] just wish u woulda got pix of the other two complexes b4 they demo'd em damn shame they took em dwn!
Everyone is saying how sad for the patient to be tied down in restraints or medicated. I work in a state hospital in another city and when the pt's go off, they hurt themselves or staff and that to me is the cruelest thing. We are keeping the pt safe in restraints, you would have to see an episode of a pt going balistic to understand the need for restraint's or meds. I think to do away with the restraint's and other means, it cruel to the patient.
Ks530- I've been wanting to go up also but my so called " friends " are to scared I have a camcorder night vision and a ghost box with some compelling evidence from it. Hit me up at Themans2sexy4u@aol.com I'm in Wilkes-barre I'll come up and join you guys!
this place is truly amazing, I've been documenting it for the past year or so for a project I'm working on. it's cool to see what it looked like a few years back, it's experienced quite a bit of deterioration since these shots were taken. great site man!
I just want every one who has possiblie seen a episode on television or has read books or maybe even seen videos or photos to ask yourself one thing if it was you who had to live tjere would you like for someone to make a mockery about your life and put all of the bad things on a television show to get ratings.i think in my own opinion as a mother with a child that is mentally disable that if it was me and wheather or not if my child survived or passed away in that hellhole I would look in to having that place declared a momument maybe its just me but I thing those children deserve that much and also there families.
these are great and incredible shots. I'm currently watching "Ghost Hunters" live on SyFy. Halloween night. I wanted to look up the Pennhurst and was delighted to find these pictures.
Did you as the photographer, feel or sense any movement, noises, actions - etc. from a possible spirit that's still hanging around?
